Key Terms
- Learners: Minors (aged 5–15) who participate in Artful Horizons classes and activities.
- Parents: Parents or legal guardians who create accounts, manage payments, and consent to their Learner’s participation in Artful Horizons classes.
- Instructor: The individual offering and teaching classes on the Artful Horizons platform (currently one instructor).

A. Note to Parents

- We do not disclose children’s personal information to third parties except as necessary to deliver our Services (e.g., secure video hosting or payment processing). Any third-party partners are contractually required to comply with COPPA, GDPR, and applicable data privacy laws.
- Parents have the option to allow internal use of their child’s information while prohibiting third-party disclosure unless essential for service delivery.
- Safeguards:
- If we become aware that personal information has been collected without proper parental consent, we will promptly delete the information.
- Children’s personal data is retained only for as long as necessary to fulfill its purpose, after which it is securely deleted to prevent unauthorized access or misuse.

- Preferences and History: Information about Classes your Learner participates in and preferences related to Services.
We do not allow Learners to independently create accounts or provide personal information without parental consent.
2. Content Data
We collect and store information related to the use of our Services, including:
- Class participation details, such as submitted drawings, photos, or videos.
- Audio and video recordings of live classes (required for safety and quality purposes).
- Feedback, reviews, and communications with customer support or other users.
All live classes are recorded, and cameras are required to be on during certain portions of the activity to ensure a safe and engaging learning environment.
3. Demographic Data
We may collect limited demographic information, such as age, gender, and country, for surveys or optional features designed to enhance the user experience. Participation in such surveys is voluntary.
4. Payment Data
Payments are processed by trusted third-party providers (e.g., Stripe, PayPal). We do not store or process payment information directly.
- For purchases: Payment data collected by third-party processors includes your name, payment method, billing address, and transaction details.
- For payouts: If applicable, we may collect financial account information and details about payments made to you.
Payment data is used solely for transaction purposes and to detect or prevent fraud.

- If we suspect a Learner or Parent has misrepresented their identity or age, we may request proof of age or identity, such as a birth certificate, passport, or other documentation. This documentation may contain sensitive data, such as full date of birth or government-issued ID numbers.
- Artful Horizons retains only the minimum necessary information, such as date of birth, for as long as required to verify identity.
- Background Checks:
- Any potential employees or contractors (if applicable in the future) may be required to undergo background checks, including providing information such as criminal history, professional qualifications, and references. Separate consent forms will be provided as part of this process.

- Video data is used strictly for safety, service delivery, and fraud prevention. We do not share or use video data outside of these purposes unless required by law or instructed by you.
- Tracking Technologies:

- Do Not Track Signals: While we acknowledge browser DNT settings, we currently do not respond to them due to the lack of industry consensus.
- Clear GIFs: Used to track user activity and interactions for internal analytics and improvement purposes.
